This is a list of 2D and 3D CAD, graphics, and animation editing programs for GNU/Linux in AppImage format. AppImage is portable application format that can run on any GNU/Linux distro. They are Blender, Synfig Studio, Krita, Peek, FreeCAD, LibreCAD, QCAD, and GIMP either officially or unofficially available. I wish to help you in 2D and 3D graphics with this list. I don't list here 2D graphics programs (already listed previously) like Scribus as they're clearly not for animation. Finally, I hope I can find more programs like Blender, FreeCAD, and Synfig in the future to be released officially as AppImage. Enjoy!

About AppImage

AppImage is a way to package a software (for developer) and to install it (for user) in one-file-per-one-app way that is universal for all GNU/Linux distros. With this, a software can be made available in its website for Windows and Mac and GNU/Linux in their respective formats of .exe, .dmg, and .appimage. To run an AppImage formatted software is the same as EXE and DMG, just let it be executable and double-click it! See also a very nice comparison between AppImage, Snappy, and Flatpak. Thanks Simon Peter (probono) for his excellent works at AppImage!
